Summer has arrived!

Hello everyone!
I was out and about Saturday night at Kodiak Jacks in Marilla and caught the "Patti Parks Band". If you haven't seen Patti yet your missing a great show. They have a very experienced 7 piece band with a great horn section. Patti does a great job up front with piles of energy. If you like Smoldering Blues and love to dance, this is a group for you. Check out her website at:

www.pattiparks.com

Kodiak's has done a nice job with the outdoor grove. There is stage with a tent for the band and the entire grove is fenced in. Mike has done a real nice job out there!

"Darrell Porter" is playing at Kodiak's this Tuesday night for acoustic night. The start time is 7:00pm outside in the grove. Come on out and check him out!

In my posting in March I told you about Ray and I putting another band together and that Mike Lorenzo and Darrell Porter joined us in doing so. Since then Brian "steely" Senefelder has joined us and to round the group out an old friend from the 80's Two Hills Band has joined us. Chris Marziale. He has great keyboard skills and a voice that really complements the band. We have a nice surprize for all you Two Hills Fans, keep your eyes and hears open for a future announcement.

Music is in the Air!

Hello Everyone,

I know it's been awhile since the last posting, thought I'd bring you up to date and say hello. I had the opportunity to see "The band from TV" at the Casino in Canada. What an absolute great time we had and the band was very entertaining to say the least. The caliber of musicians was excellent and sound was very enjoyable. Doctor House is quite a piano player and also a cantankerous character. What fun!

I got out and caught "Mick Hayes" for a couple sets, this guy can rock on a guitar and sing with the best. If you haven't seen Mick you are missing some of the best rockin' blues in the business!

This Friday at "Ying's and Things" located on French rd. near Transit in Depew a band called "20 years later" is playing at 11:00pm. I had the oppertunity to play drums for PJ Lorenzo on his "BitterSweet" CD awhile back. This 3 piece group can really cook, you may want to check them out! Check out PJ's web site at:

http://www.pjlorenzo.com/

Jeff {munzie} Munzert is still under contract with Rascal, he is always on the road somewhere. He's doing good and calls me once a month with an update and to see if we have any thing going with the band.

Ray Wood and I have been working on a new project putting another band together. Darrell Porter and Mike Lorenzo have joined us for some fun. I'll keep you updated on how things are going along.

Anyone hear any great bands lately give me an e-mail shout at twohillsband@gmail.com

Outdoor Jamboree Saturday June 27th!

Hello everyone,
I know it's been awhile, summer is finally here and there's music in the air! This weekend, Saturday June 27Th there will be an outdoor "jamboree" in Kodiak Jack's backyard. If you have never been in Kodiak's back yard, it's set up beautiful! Completely fenced in area, fire pit, hugh stage in the rear, food service available outside, and I'm sure Mike will have anything you may desire!

Kodiak Jack's is located at: 3481 Two Rod Road, Marilla, New York 14052

This should be a fun one!! It reminds me of the old "Lance and Shield" days. The weather looks like it will be on our side for a change..... "think..... no rain" Yea!

George Doran will be opening the show @ 5:00 pm followed by performances from 'Rabbit Foot", "Winterwood" and the "The George Doran Band"

"Rabbit Foot" is a 3-piece local band, Dave Keller, Mike Keller and Jimmy. They are a great sounding group and very tight! Check out their web site: http://rabbitfootband.com/

"Winterwood" was formed some time after the breakup of the Original Two Hills Band. George Doran, Greg Sowyrda, Dave Keller and Rich Basile. This four piece band can "ROCK" the house! You don't want to miss this one.

The "George Doran Band" was formed shortly before his newly release CD. The band consists of Greg Sowyrda, George Doran, Dave Keller, Mike Lorenzo, Ray Wood and I, Doug Field. We will be performing George's CD release songs along with some others that George may pull out of the hat!
You can check out George's site at: http://www.georgedoran.com/dream_home.html

Well, that's all for now. Stay well and keep your feet tapping! Hope to see you all at the show!

PS: I talked with Jeff "Munzie" Munzert, he will have some time off in August from his Rascal Flatts tour, so keep your ears to wind. Maybe we can sneak in a show before he hits the road again!

Kodiak Jacks Performance!

Wow, what do I say about the performance last Saturday night, I'm still high on this one! Great job on the harmonies and musically as tight as I have ever heard it!

Those of you that came out to hear the band may have witnessed the best performance by the band in over 30 years! George was throwing songs out there that we have never played as a group before, "Helpless" may have been the one song that was a true highlight of the night for me.

Brian "Steely" Senefelder was absolutely stellar on the pedal steel, my personal congratulations to him!

We would like to thank you the fans again for the great response and listening ears for all our original and copy material. It was nice to see many of our old friends again. Truly the band enjoyed every minute and had a lot of fun playing for you folks. We looking forward to the next time.

Congratulations to my fellow band members, I'm proud of you all.

PJ Lorenzo, New CD "Bittersweet" Released!

Hello Everyone
I have had the privledge of playing drums on a good friends new CD that was just released, I thought you may what to share the fun. The new CD is called "Bittersweet" by PJ Lorenzo.

For sometime PJ Lorenzo has been playing guitar in various Progressive Rock and Top 40/Rock bands in the Buffalo, NY area. He has been a nominee in the past by the Buffalo Music Awards Society for best Pop/Rock and Rock guitarist in Western, New York 4 years in a row that he was in the running.

PJ contacted me awhile ago and expressed interest of having me get the dust off my drums and get into the studio, "Select Sound". We had alot of fun and he pushed me to get back on the horse and start playing again. This lead to the 30th reunion at Rhino's, the family and friends show at Kodiak Jacks, and the acoustic night at Murphy's. Currently we are gathering plans for an outdoor event next summer! Meanwhile I am under study again with Louie Marino who is putting the chops back together, having fun!

PJ's new CD is available to purchase or give a breif listen to at this address:

Family & Friends Show @ Kodiak Jacks

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! Thought I'd catch everyone up on what's going on and what has happened in the past few months. After the Rhino's gig Jeff(Munzie) returned to Nashville for his commitment with Rascal Flatts. The Rhino's gig was jammed packed to capacity crowd all night long. We played from 10:00pm till 2:30 non stop, what a great time we had! We pulled out all the old originals and any songs you may have heard in the past along with several new ones. Thank you fans for receiving us so well and to Rhino's for hosting our event. I don't think Rhino's was ready for the "Original Two Hills Band" following and I'm not sure we expected to see all you folks come out! It was amazing to see everyone again.
To our surprise Jeff returned to Buffalo for Christmas and and New Years. George was scheduled to play solo at Kodiak Jacks on Friday Dec. 26th. so the whole group joined george for another fun night on a last minute decision. This gig was not advertised due to the size of the room and last minute decision to play. We performed for our family and friends and had an awesome time. I have a few pictures you may enjoy seeing taken by: Rachelle Roberts - Rae, Thank You Rachelle! You may also see the entire collection of pictures she took that night at address below.

The Following night, Saturday, we joined Ray at Murphy's in the gulf dome and did an acoustic show which was also not advertised and turned out to be great fun for all. I'll see about some photo's of that show. If anyone has any pictures they would like to share with the web site, please e-mail me at: twohillsband@gmail.com
Jeff returned home to Nashville where he has been living for the past 20 years and will return in the spring of 2009 to join us for an outdoor event. I'll keep you up to date as that unfolds.
